Amnesty International
Description: Amnesty International is a global movement of millions of people demanding human rights for all people – no matter who they are or where they are. We work to protect individuals and groups wherever human rights, justice, freedom, truth, and dignity are denied.
How to get involved: Contact [email protected] and/or attend a meeting if you are interested.
Meeting Time(s): Thursdays from 2:15pm-3:00pm in Ms. Brown's Room 245
Advisor: Ms. Brown
Events: We host 1-2 events during the school year that are outside of the school day. For example, we typically organize a Global Write-A-Thon in December and a Hunger Banquet in the Spring. Events may last anywhere from 1-3 hours.
Commitment/Expectations for attendance for meetings, practice(s), and/or event(s):
This club expects a minimal commitment from students (30 min - 1 hr/week). Students must attend Tuesday morning meetings - if absent they must let the advisor know prior to the meeting. Sign-in is required at meetings.
After five missed meetings students will be considered a non-member. Active members are expected to participate and make the club's planned events a priority.
