Athletic Leadership Council

Description: The objective of the Athletic Leadership Council is to learn what it means to be a leader of an athletic team, expectations of being a leader, the importance of teamwork and communication, setting goals and to help encourage and support the CIAC Sportsmanship Initiative, "Class Act Schools."

How to get involved: Athletes must complete an application which can be obtained from your coach or Ms. Heck.

Meeting Time(s): Tuedsays 7:15 in the LMC ... check canvas calendar for specific dates or contact Hilde Heck

Advisor: Ms. Hilda Heck; Athletic Director

Events: Members attend 3+ events (ex: Shoreline Sportsmanship Conference, CIAC leadership conference, and Athletic banquets).  These events are during the school year and are typically during the school day.  Events may last anywhere from 3-5 hours. Student-Athletes will  be elected to be a part of sub groups both at school, conference and state level.

Commitment/Expectations for attendance for meetings, practice(s), and/or event(s):
Members are expected to participate and make the club's planned events a priority.  Members are expected to promote leadership and athletic values discussed at the meetings. This club expects a minimal commitment from students (30min. - 1hr. /week).   Members must attend morning meetings - if absent they must let advisor know prior to the meeting. Sign-in is required at meetings. If a member misses 3 or more meetings they will not be invited to attend the Shoreline and CIAC leadership conferences and will not be listed on the CIAC as an Athletic Leaders.
