Geography Club

Geography Club Description: Geography Club is a fun club for students interested in all things on this blue planet.  We are talking maps, trivia, GeoGuessr, games, compass reading and orienteering, Geocaching, and more.  Additionally, select club members will have the opportunity to compete at the Connecticut State GeoChallenge.

How to get involved: Contact  Mr. D'Aquila and attend a meeting if you are interested.

Meeting Time(s): Meetings start in September Tuesdays @ 7:15 in Mr. D'Aquila’s room.

Advisor:  Mr. D'Aquila

Events: The Connecticut State GeoChallenge competition occurs in May at a state university and by teacher nomination only. This event occurs during the school day and would require students to miss a full school day. This event lasts 7-8 hours including travel

Commitment/Expectations for attendance for meetings, practice(s), and/or event(s):
This club expects a minimal commitment from students (30 min - 1 hr/week).  Students should attend weekly morning meetings unless they are seeking extra help from another teacher.  If absent, students must let the advisor know prior to the meeting. Officers are required to attend all meetings.  Sign-in occurs at meetings.  If a student does not attend meetings regularly, they will not be eligible for consideration to compete at the State Challenge in May.
