Monday, May 6 6:30 p.m. Board of Education Conference Room at Center School Public information session on the eve of the referendum District Budget Referendum Vote Tuesday, May 7 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Cross Lane Firehouse in Old Lyme Lyme Town Hall in Lyme Budget Information is available online at https://www.region18.org/district-information/budget-2019-2020 ![]() In partnership with the Old Lyme Land Trust (OLLT), Alec started out with the idea to do something on the John Lohman Connecticut River Preserve. It has beautiful terraced fields, and a very majestic point that goes out into the river a little bit. These trails, according to Alec, needed a good spot to stop and admire the nature. Alec's project was to create a Reflection Area, a spot with a good seat, and a fantastic view where you can sit and close your eyes, and embrace the nature around you. Through many days of hard planning, and running all over Old Lyme, East Lyme, and Old Saybrook collecting donations from various businesses, namely Laysville Hardware and UBS, I gathered my volunteers and built the benches, as well as installed them, in 2 days. They should be there for decades to come, beckoning people to embrace the beauty that surrounds them in this world that moves way too fast. Nice Work Alec! On April 30th, Evan Visgilio and Caroline Wallace were acknowledged at the Michael's Cup Unified Athletics Banquet for their participation in the Unified Community. The banquet was held at the Aqua Turf in Southington, CT and gathered nearly 100 Middle School and High School Unified Athletes and Partners! Both Caroline and Evan received plaques for the Mike Savage Teammate Award which emphasizes individuals who exemplify the ideals of the positive spirit of the sport and core mission of education-based athletics. Great job Evan and Caroline! Go Wildcats! Students enrolled in AP European History had the opportunity to enrich their learning (in preparation for their AP Exam this week) to explore the Wadsworth collection of art with a docent led tour of European paintings from the Renaissance to the postmodern era. Highlights included a Caravaggio, Monet, & a Van Gogh.
