Description:
Spanish National Honor Society (Spanish: Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica) is an academic honor society focused on Spanish language excellence in secondary education and promotes a continuity of interest in Spanish studies. Its motto is "¡Todos a una!" ("All Together for One Goal"). The group, which was established in 1953 in the United States is sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese. Each chapter has its own unique name, which is associated with some aspect of the Spanish or Portuguese culture. Each society member must have taken three semesters of Spanish or Portuguese. He/she is required to maintain an "honor grade" or GPA, which correlates with the Society's mission of high academic achievement.

Commitment/Expectations for attendance for meetings, practice(s), and/or event(s):
- To have a 3.7 GPA (B+/-A)
- To be fully involved in at least 4 major projects during the year
- To be a model citizen inside and outside the school
- To participate and be active in all the activities related to SNHS within the meeting and
- To come at least 3 times a month for at least 20 minutes
- Family, personal or medical absences will not be counted
- In case of sport activities, meetings with teachers and guidance after school will not count as an absence as long as you get involved in other activities to compensate (talk with Advisor)
- To come to the Induction ceremony
- To do at least 6 hours of community service each semester (2 hours related to the Latino/Hispanic world (culture or language)
- To collaborate within the society and with other organizations
- To arrive on time
