Student Council
Description: The Student Council is the voice of the students. With representation from each grade, this group advises and assists in the planning, organizing and implementing programs and events that promote a positive school culture.

How to get involved: Come to meetings every other Thursday morning at 7 am and/or email Ms. Mercaldi ([email protected])
Meeting Time(s): Every other Thursday morning at 7:00 am in the LMC.
Events: Preparing for school assemblies and school activities, spirit weeks, Homecoming Dance, Blood Drives, Field Day, EGO and 8th grade transition, Newcomer lunches. Events last anywhere from 1-3 hours during the school day. Spirit Week, Homecoming Dance, Blood Drive, Study with a Buddy, Lip Sync, Field Day
Commitment/Expectations for attendance for meetings, practice(s), and/or event(s):
This club expects a moderate commitment from students (1-4 hours per week). Attendance of all meetings and events is expected of each member. Attendance is taken at each meeting and members may not miss more than 3 meetings per semester. If absent they must let advisor know prior to the meeting. Students are expected to participate (plan, organize or prepare) at least 3 events throughout the school year.

- Board of Education Representation - 2 seats elected by the organization to be the student voice on the BOE - Students must attend monthly BOE meetings)
- State Student Advisory Council - students are given an opportunity to apply to sit on the state SAC board working with students across the state.
- Safe School Climate Committee- students are given opportunities to sit on a school committee in order to provide perspective and plan strategies to improve our school community. There are 4 meetings a year. This group reports to the District Integrated Committee
- SC Leadership - Annually, the members of Student Council can apply for a leadership role as an officer. Officer meetings occur on Thursday mornings when SC does not meet. Student officers plan and run meetings while facilitating the implementation of all activities and events.
