Exciting Achievements in Wrestling!

The past few weeks have been nothing short of thrilling for our wrestling team! Let's take a look at the incredible journey our team members have been on:

CIAC Class S Championship (Feb 16):
Rowan Hovey and Taiyo Gemme showcased their skills by finishing 6th in their respective weight classes. Hoshena Gemme wrestled bravely against boys but unfortunately lost in the 2nd round. However, the highlight was Chase Catalano emerging victoriously as the 165lbs CIAC Class S Champion!
2024 CIAC State Open Championship (Feb 23):
Chase continued his impressive performance by securing 2nd place, narrowly missing the top spot to Fisher Stites of Newtown, CT, who later went on to finish 3rd in New England. Meanwhile, Hoshena dominated the CIAC Girls State Championship with an impressive 8-0 win over Rylee Donahue of Norwalk HS.
2023 New England Interscholastic Wrestling Championship:
This past weekend saw both Chase and Hoshena competing at the Providence Career and Technical Academy in Rhode Island. While Chase faced a tough loss in the 2nd round, Hoshena shone bright with a commanding 9-2 victory over Jillian Glaski from Mt. Anthony HS in Bennington, VT.

Congratulations to our outstanding wrestling team and a special shoutout to Hoshena for earning the well-deserved title of All-New England. Keep up the fantastic work!
