LOLHS would like to RECOGNIZE AND CONGRATULATE
Samantha Olson
has been selected as a winner of the The Travelers Employees' Club Scholarship.
Pursuant to an Agreement with National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), this Special Scholarship award is sponsored by The Travelers Employees' Club.

Special Scholarships are underwritten by many of the business organizations that also provide Merit Scholarship® awards for students who qualify as Finalists in the National Merit® Scholarship Program.  These corporate sponsors wish to offer a fixed number of awards each year for students who meet their specified criteria—usually children of employees or residents of communities where the company has facilities.  In years when the number of such Finalists is less than the total number of scholarships a sponsor wishes to offer, the company or business supplements its National Merit Scholarships with Special Scholarships for other high performers in the National Merit Program.  Winners of Special Scholarships are chosen based on their academic accomplishments from a pool of candidates who fulfilled the sponsor's criteria and scored high on the 2018 PSAT/NMSQT®.
                           Nice Job Samantha!

Mrs. Duhamel's note to her period 7 class:

                                                What I Would Give
What I would give to see period 7 trying to put their chairs up FIVE minutes before the bell or leaving their borrowed pencil on their desk for me to put back. . . but I won't single out anyone (Sal, Zach . . . lol).

What I would give for period 4 students to trickle in after lunch with ice-cream, chips, and/or ENORMOUS brownies in hand . .. but I won't single out anyone (Alec, Max, and Phil . . . lol).

What I would give to launch into my "teacher look" due to phones . . .yes . .. let's not single anyone out (Nate, Colby, Andrew, Jeremy . . . lol).

What I would give to hear your cheerful greetings as you enter class (Dylan, Darin, Jeremy, Nathaniel, Kaitlyn, Charlie, Parker, Corbin, Faith, Britney, Nate, Ryan M., Finn, Liam, Quinn, Aidan G., Kevin, Sam R., Max)

What I would give to hear your pleasant "have a nice day" as you leave class (Callum, Andrew, Aidan R., Lauren, Bryce, Angie, Gabe, Ryan T., Luc, Sam G., Sal, Kamber, Jenny and Lisbet)

What I would give to be BACK IN SCHOOL with all of you!!

At the end of the day, you know I say this all with a SMILE---yes---I am SMILING as I type this. These little high school quirks make you YOU and give color and character to our class.
Please submit your work---
Stay healthy and be well!
Mrs. Duhamel

PicturePainting by Erika Carcamo-Martinez
We are all struggling with ways to keep occupied, positive and creative. Here is one's student's work... not classwork related. Erika shared her "spare time" project with a teacher. I thought it would be fun to share with you all... It makes me want to paint and keeps me thinking of what colors will come once Spring finally shines on us. I love the colors!

                          Nice Work Erica!
