On Friday Oct 29, Student Leaders sponsored a Halloween Costume Contest. Prizes were awarded for the scariest, funniest, best duo and best overall costumes. Winners were chosen from each lunch wave, and an overall winner for each category was ultimately selected. Thank you to our teacher voting panel and bravo to our students for their creativity and humor! The Safe Grad committee has planned
the next four meeting dates and hoping you will join in on the planning. All meetings will be at 5:30pm in the LOLHS Commons. The dates are: October 20 November 3 November 17 December 1 The Class of 2024 enjoyed a fun Fall Festival on Thursday. The highlight of the evening was a raucous Cake Walk organized by parent Dottie Wells. Students also loved carving and painting pumpkins, playing badminton and ping pong, and watching the movie Coraline. Pizza, popcorn, and drinks were enjoyed by all. It was great to spend time playing and laughing together. Chemistry students celebrate "The Mole" every year on (or around) October 23. This year's Mole Day theme was "Hamoleton" (from the play Hamilton). The kids have to make an original, theme-based project. (A mole is equal to 6.02 X 1023 and is important in our chemistry conversions throughout the year.) Take a look at some of the creative representations:
On Wednesday LOLHS, Wellness Day proved to be quite a success. After the academic classes finished at 11:24, students and staff selected from a myriad of workshops - each, in their own way, having a focus on health and wellness. Participants came away with at least one strategy that can be used on a daily basis... whether it was learning how to create with food, movements or sounds, all participants were challenged to take the time to think about how we can be more mindful of our health and wellness. There were 30 workshops in which to participate. Take a look at some pictures of students and staff in action along with the workshop list and presenters. It was an incredible day full of great energy and enthusiasm that was made possible because of the efforts and expertise of various community members. THANK YOU TO ALL OF OUR PRESENTERS! |
