In an effort to prepare all of our students for Kindergarten, our tentative plan is to expand our Pre-K offerings to all students in Lyme and Old Lyme and establish a universal Pre-K program based on Connecticut’s Early Learning and Developmental Standards. We also hope to entice non-residents to move to our district, or enroll their students on a tuition basis, to enjoy this added benefit. This tentative plan would begin in the 2019-2020 school year. To assist in the planning process, we are asking for your input. If you have a child that will be three or four years old by September 1, 2019, and are interested in your child being considered for this program, please complete the following survey before November 15, 2018. Survey results will be used in both our planning process as well as in securing spots in this exciting new program. The survey can be found on our website at : http://www.region18.org/page.cfm?p=2207.
On Wednesday, October 10, all 9th , 10th and 11th graders will be taking the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT). The PSAT, a shortened version of the SAT Reasoning Test, will provide students with the opportunity to become familiar with the content and format of the SAT. While the PSAT is for practice, it is a valuable tool and is used to provide us with important student benchmark data. Some helpful reminders to help your student prepare: - Get a good night's sleep - Eat a good breakfast - Leave your phones home (or in your locker) - Try your best:) Here is Wednesday's schedule

Thank you! 2018-2019 Booster Club Committee Congratulations to Kylie Hall, Hannah Morrison and Kathryn Atkinson for being named 2019 National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists. It is an honor to recognize Kylie, Hannah and Kathryn for their academic achievement. They represent a very small percentage of U.S. high school seniors who have been named 2019 National Merit Scholar Semifinalists. Semifinalists are designated on a state-representational basis. The number of Semifinalists named in each state is proportional to the state's percentage of the national total of graduating high school seniors. Juniors enter the National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the PSAT/NMSQT (Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test). The PSAT is administered yearly by LOLHS to all 9th, 10th and 11th graders and serves as an initial screen of program entrants.
WELL DONE KATHRYN, HANNAH AND KYLIE! This week was filled with great enthusiasm and school spirit. Students dressed to the hilt and earned spirit points during lunches when class representatives enjoyed some friendly competitions like Twister and Limbo to name just two! We ended the week with an energetic Pep Rally on Friday before dismissal. On Saturday night we had the BEST Homecoming yet! Almost half the school attended and enjoyed some free pizza and a fantastic DJ who kept them dancing the whole time. Fun was had by all!
