​Community members are encouraged to attend the public forum on the proposed artificial playing surface on our main campus. The agenda includes a brief overview of the project, a presentation by the engineering and design firm working on the proposed project, followed by questions from attendees. This meeting is virtual with no in-person attendance

Take a look as Mr. Fisler demonstrated Newton’s Law of Inertia. The basketball is moving horizontally before it is thrown upwards. Since there is not much air resistance, the ball will keep its speed horizontally and stay in line with the skater, unless the skater falls and breaks his hip!

The Booster Club has launched an online store with Sportees. You can find the link above the images below.

In addition to the online store, the Booster Club also has a 20-21 Membership Letter  (below). The LOLHS Booster Club is appealing to families if they are able to donate or become a member. The Booster Club accepts matching donations. These are a great way to make a big impact! There is a fall matching donation drive at Charter Oak Federal Credit Union for families that are members.
 
We are not able to do many fundraisers this year, and Memberships are the best way to show your support!!

20-21 LOLHS Booster Club Committee

Thursday and Friday of this week (October 15 and 16) is Picture day! Schedules have been posted for students in the Commons, on Canvas in the Student:LOLHS course, and hard copies of the schedule has been passed out to every teacher.
Mr. Eckhart and Mr. Raiti will be taking all photos.

The four part series, #Undeniable Truth,  is for parents with children of all ages.  This presenter is very dynamic and brings a wealth of information, support, and resources for families! Mark your calendar and register today!

On October 1st and 2nd, LOLHS Wildcats were out in full force. Our abbreviated fall season began with vigor and caution. Junior Varsity and Varsity games competed on different days. Fans joined in outside with masks and volleyball fans were able to watch via live stream. It was wonderful to experience some normalcy by watching the athletes compete and cheering them on. A perfect and beautiful fall afternoon!

As we continue to monitor and adjust our attendance practices after our first month of school, I wanted to reach out and inform you, on behalf of the LOLHS and our attendance guidelines, we apologize for any confusion or frustration. I understand that there has been some concerns with attendance matters dealing with morning tardies due to traffic and absences for students who are remaining home for precautionary measures. Please know that we are grateful that you are being cautious and trying to keep us all safe and we are aware that the traffic remains an issue.  Ms. Piccolo and I  remain flexible and will continue to monitor and accommodate any concerns with tardies and absences.  Please contact me or Ms. Piccolo if you have any questions.

​Science Olympiad is ready to get going and there are some exciting changes in this VERY DIFFERENT year of ours.  The most recent change is that Brown University and Harvard have teamed up to create a combined competition for Science Olympiad and we are excited to join!!!  
There will be many changes this year to keep everyone safe but our ultimate mission of expanding your love and interest in the STEM fields remains constant.  Science Olympiad brings far more than knowledge to my world as I know it does for you too so let's get going!!  
 
There will be an informational Zoom meeting on Thursday, October 8 at 5:00 pm.  If you have any questions, you can even email me prior to the meeting, and I can make sure we address them during the zoom meeting.
