By: Arianna DelMastro For the Spanish Honor Society’s most recent bulletin board, Jane Scheiber, Rachael Larson, and Arianna DelMastro focused on Latinx art in three major categories: music, literature, and visual arts. The board educated students about significant Latinx artists, but it also contained some unique attributes. To offer a better understanding of the musical aspect, students viewing the board could visit Spotify to listen to a specially-crafted playlist consisting of music by the featured artists. Students were also invited to take a tear-away poetry sample in either English or Spanish to further immerse themselves in the world of Hispanic literary arts.     On Friday December 13, NHS, Student Leaders, Student Advisory Council and Community Service Club are collaborating to host PJ Day to benefit the Center for Cancer & Blood Disorders at Connecticut Children’s Medical Hospital. We encourage everyone to donate $1 or more in their homeroom to be able to wear PJ’s to school while supporting this important organization!   NHS is hosting their annual toy drive to benefit local families this holiday season! Berries can be found in the library that indicate which gifts are requested. To participate, take a berry and return the berry with the unwrapped gift to the library by December 12 (gift cards must be given to library staff). We appreciate your support in brightening the holiday season for local children! Members of FBLA collected coats in conjunction with the annual Best Cleaners Coat Drive. Best Cleaners is a Middletown company who recently expanded and opens in the Hall’s Plaza. Nice Work Wildcats!  |
