Amnesty International Update

This week we discussed corporate accountability. There are few effective ways at the national and international level to stop and prevent corporate human rights abuses or to hold companies accountable for their actions. Amnesty is working to change this. Livelihoods are destroyed as the land is contaminated and water supplies are polluted such as Ogoniland, Nigeria → these issues directly affect the Indigenous people because their livelihoods are correlated to their land. Companies argue against any development of international law and standards that protect human rights. ​
