Emma Boardman Determined, inquisitive, integrity, and kindness are the perfect words to introduce Emma Boardman. She is one of our best. Her rigorous academic journey has earned her such accolades as the St. Michael’s Boo Award, The President’s Award for Academic Excellence, and membership to both the National and Spanish Honor Societies. And most recently She has been awarded the Verrecchia Business Scholarship at the University of Rhode Island. Incidentally, she is one of only a handful of students to earn this prestigious award. That is the first half of Emma. The second half is her kindness and service to our community. As the Vice President of the Class of 2021, Emma has worked hard to enrich the culture of our school. As the captain of the women’s volleyball team, she played a large role in creating a culture of pride and sportsmanship. Emma’s kind and approachable manner served her well as she mentored a struggling middle school student through the COVID crisis. Within the community, she is the Student Representative to the Lymes’ Youth Service Bureau’s Board of Directors. Without question, this confident young woman uses her voice to enhance the lives of her fellow students and local community. Emma, we are honored and proud to present you with the CABE Student Leadership Award. | Aidan Powers Aidan Powers is a smart, thoughtful, and lighthearted young man who is committed to excellence, both personal and academic. Aidan is uniquely creative, multi-talented and one of the nicest people you will ever meet. He enjoys a challenge as showcased by his myriad self-imposed goals, whether academic, community or art oriented, Aidan commits himself and works with diligence and tenacity. His quiet determination, makes him an excellent student and community member. He has been awarded with the Connecticut Golden Key Award and National Silver Medal of Art for his fine artwork. His artistic talents can be seen throughout our school. He is a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, and team captain for both the Cross Country and Track teams. Aidan’s humble demeanor toward his many successes along with his integrity and sensitivity have earned him the respect of our faculty as well as his peers. In addition to the time-consuming commitments to his Artwork, he carries 3 AP classes on his schedule Aidan Powers is a rare gem. It is clear that he is a young man of the highest integrity and always gives his personal best. We are honored and proud to present him as the recipient of the Connecticut Association of Boards of Education Award. |
