Closing out 2023 with a Bang!

This week at LOLHS has been truly a festive one. Between the daily holiday wear, our first ever Winter Carnival, the caroling around school, and the return of the "Holiday Assembly", it has been a crazy, fun and special week.

Winter Carnival

The Winter Carnival on Wednesday was a huge success and a great way for the school to come together and enjoy each other during our Advisory block. Each class hosted a couple of events (under the direction of the class officers) for everyone to appreciate. The Class of 2027 showed the Grinch movie in the Auditorium and Holiday Bingo in Dr. Hedwall's room. The Class of 2025 shared a hot chocolate bar in the Library with all sorts of table games. In the Commons, the Class of 2026 hosted holiday Karaoke and cookie decorating while the halls (and catwalk) were being decked! And in the Gym, the Class of 2024 enjoyed Holiday Family Feud, Pin the Nose on the Snowman and Candy Cane Drop. Students and staff mingled in and out of events and shared some special moments together as a school community. Take a look!

The Holiday Assembly

Today, after our short classes, the Wind Ensemble and the Select Singers book-ended our holiday assembly prepared for us by the Student Council. Both groups were absolutely AMAZING! And in between, the students and teachers participated in various minute-to-win it activities which included Ornament on a Spoon, Unwrap a Gift...with mittens, Jingle Bell Hop, Snowball Toss, Santa Limbo and Gift Wrap an Advisor. We had lots of laughs and spread lots of holiday cheer. Take a look at some of the events and performances below:
