by Rhyleigh Russell Safe Futures is a humanitarian service located in Connecticut for the purpose of supporting all those affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and trafficking. Safe Futures provides walk-in counseling, court services, and safety training information with confidential consultations. The facility also aids the children of families who have been affected. There is no one face to these crimes; they can exist in any community, involve people of any age, in any relationship. That is why it’s important to recognize Safe Futures as a vital organization to our community’s safety. Donations are welcome! Lyme-Old Lyme High School is accepting a variety of sanitary products and essentials to give to Safe Futures. This includes Full-Sized Toiletries, Shampoo, Conditioner, Body Lotion, Body Wash, and Toothpaste. Needed also are kitchen items such as Aluminum Foil, Plastic Wrap, Ziploc bags, Spoons, Spatulas, Can Openers, Veggie Peelers, Small Cutting Boards, Dish Detergent, Sponges, and Hand Towels. Collection dates will be Feb. 7 - 18.
You can also support Safe Futures by reading their website (https://safefuturesct.org) to follow any new programs or to learn more about the impact of the issues they focus on. If you or someone you know feels unsafe, please reach out to this number: 860-701-6001. The town of Old Lyme is behind you. Comments are closed.
