Support a Voice for All! This Friday, April 12th, Spectrum is encouraging all students to participate in Day of Silence. This day, held annually since 1996, was established by GLSEN to spread awareness about the silencing and erasure of LGBT+ students. LOLHS students can participate by electing to wear either a red or white ribbon on Friday, which they may obtain from Spectrum’s table in the commons the morning of. By wearing the red ribbon, students assume a vow of silence for the day to stand in solidarity with those who do not have a voice. Wearing a white ribbon allows students to show support without the commitment to silence for the day. Spectrum organizes the Day of Silence event at LOLHS every year and hopes to see a lot of participation this Friday!” Comments are closed.
