Faculty Focus:

Lyme-Old Lyme's World Language Department attended the Annual Conference  of the Connecticut Organization of Language Teachers the end of October. Two of our esteemed faculty made us proud by giving workshops at the state conference. 

Growth Mindset in Spanish class  Presenter: Juan José Vázquez-Caballero 
The workshop shared the vision for growth mindset and how it is implemented in the high school Spanish classroom.  Mr. Vazquez shared the process and activities to promote growth mindset and how he structures feedback to students, curriculum development, and the use of self-evaluation in this context.

I Can Do These In Mandarin Chinese Presenter: John Wang
Mr. Wang  shared how focusing on the ACTFL Can-do statements, a curriculum can be constructed to reflect the 5Cs, the AP themes, as well as methods of teaching and assessment.
