February Festivities! ...February begins with a bang!

Freshman Fun

#ProAtBeingMe Campain:
Lyme's Youth Service Bureau and REACH (Responsible Educated Adolescents Can Help) are sponsoring the Pro At Being Me Campaign this week. Each day this week, students will be posed a question related to this theme. During lunches they will have the opportunity to write their response and post it on the wall in the commons.

On Thursday evening, February 2, at 7:00 pm LYSB is hosting a parent night in the Library Media Center: "A Parenting Teachable Moment: Chris Herren, Addiction and Recovery".  This program will feature: Chris Herren video clips as well as a LOLHS Youth Panel. Students will provide some teen advice to parents and openly respond to questions such as:  what’s really going on with youth substance use? - why do teens choose to use, or not use substances? - how can parents follow up on the Chris Herren messages? 

On Friday, February 3, Chris Herren will be at the high school for  a 1.5 hour assembly after which students will participate in an advisory activity.

Freshman Lock-in:
Friday, February 3, the Class of 2020 have a Lock-In planned! All freshman are encouraged to join in on this great class bonding event. There will be food, snacks, open gym, a movie and lots of other activities. Students should bring an air mattress or sleeping bag (they will be sleeping on the gym floor) as well as whatever else they feel is needed for an overnight. All students planning to attend must complete a yellow permission form (available through homeroom teacher on on CANVAS-class 2020 course.  Student drop-off and check-in is at 8:45 pm - right after the Boys Basketball game against Portland! Pick-up is at 8 am sharp Saturday morning, February 4. Come and enjoy the fun!

Hypnotist Night: 
The Freshman class is sponsoring a Hypnotist Night in the high school auditorium on Wednesday February 8. Doors open at 6:15 and the show begins 7 pm. Tickets are $10.00 per person. It is a fun evening... come and join in on the fun!
