There are two assessments LOLHS students participate in to demonstrate their achievement in the study of Latin: The National Latin Exam and the Connecticut Latin Contest. The National Latin Exam is an opportunity for students to experience a sense of personal accomplishment and success through the study of the Latin language and culture. The opportunity exists for each individual student since he or she is not competing with fellow students on a comparative basis, but is evaluated solely on his or her own performance on the exam. Unlike the National Latin Exam, Connecticut Latin Contest awards are not scored against a standard, but against all CT Latin students who take the exams; the exams are much more challenging and the awards more difficult to earn. Below are the results of this year's Latin Exam Achievements ... BENE FACTUM WILDCATS! translation: Well Done!
