On Tuesday, May 23, twelve regional schools convened at Valley Regional High School to celebrate and honor the Shoreline Social Studies Award recipients. Sean Scanlon, CT State Comptroller, US Senator Chris Murphey's video message as well as Devin Carney, our State Representative, all encouraged our students to follow their interests in the field and explained how this is how they found their own paths into the political arena as well as serving the public. LOLHS is proud to present the Shoreline Excellence in Social Studies Award to Delaney Nelson. This award is presented to "a junior who demonstrates a high degree of interest and enthusiasm for social studies and who possesses a high level of ability, critical thinking, and conceptual understanding of the subject." Delaney has achieved outstanding excellence in social studies for the past three years. Additionally, LOLHS' Mock Trial Team was recognized for their state win and representing our state in the National Mock Trial Competition. All received special citations for their efforts. WAY TO GO WILDCATS!Comments are closed.
