LOLHS would like to recognize all the members of Spectrum for being nominated and considered as FINALISTS for The GLSEN GSA (Gay-Straight Alliance) of the Year Award. This award recognizes and celebrates a GSA for its outstanding work and commitment to advocating and organizing around LGBT issues in their school.
Spectrum is a socially conscious club that runs educational activities aimed at dispelling minority stereotypes and encouraging broader understanding and appreciation of people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, religions, ethnic backgrounds or national origins and disabilities.
Spectrum was recognized as being tremendous advocates. The communication from GLSEN reads: "While the committee has selected another GSA as the 2020 GSA of the Year, we wanted to commend you all on the incredible impact you are making at your school and in your communities and for being recognized as one of the top GSAs in the country! As we mentioned in the interview, we would like to congratulate the entire Spectrum CT club for being selected as a finalist! In recognition of your GSA’s accomplishments, we will be adding your school’s name to the GSA Honor Roll list in our Press Release and our website!
WAY TO GO SPECTRUM!
