The Visual Arts Department of Lyme-Old Lyme High School is proud to announce outstanding results from this year’s Future Choices Art Show, sponsored by the Shoreline Arts Alliance.
Senior Emily Archer won First Place Print and Best in Show for her etching, “Still,” also earning the Earl Grenville Killeen Founders Award for William Allik as teacher of the Best in Show recipient. Senior Claudia Mergy was awarded First Place in Painting for the second consecutive year, also winning the Ruth Baxter-Tagliatela Award for her painting “Temptations.” Senior Amanda Murphy took First in Ceramics for “Monster Pot.” Winning Honorable Mention were Junior Mya Johnson and Sophomore Nathan Ramella in sculpture, Junior Kathryn Atkinson in Drawing and Senior Cora Koproski in Photography. Other students with works juried into the show were Charlotte Carmody, Luke Hoffman, Lauren King, Brandon Lee, Hannah Morrison, Jane Scheiber, Summer Siefken, Penelope Small, Colleen Walsh and Georgia Welch. Students who reside or attend school in the 24-town Shoreline region are eligible to submit up to three works each for this juried competition. Award-winners earn cash prizes, and other scholarship awards will be announced at the Artist Reception and Awards Ceremony on March 3, from 3pm-5pm at the Sill House Gallery at Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts, 84 Lyme Street, Old Lyme, CT, 06371. The show runs through March 6, with gallery hours from 10 am – 4 pm, Monday through Saturday (No Sunday Hours). Comments are closed.
