![]() Raku ware is a kind of Japanese pottery used for ceremonial tea ware. It is used by Zen Buddhist Masters because it embodies many of their philosophies such as simplicity and naturalness. All of nature's elements are used while firing, earth, fire, air, and water. At Lyme-Old Lyme High School, it was a tradition to do a western-style raku firing at the end of the year for ceramics students. Unfortunately, Raku Day has not been done for the past four years at the high school. For Franki Donato and Kelly Walsh’s senior project, they decided to bring back Raku Day Comments are closed.
