By Mrs. Glorioso, Advisor Congratulations to the Lyme / Old Lyme Science Olympiad team for their 2nd place win at the state Science Olympiad tournament! The Lyme/Old Lyme Science Olympiad team worked relentlessly all year to earn back our title as State Champions for the Science Olympiad tournament but our incredibly talented competitors from Westport advanced to the National Tournament where they will surely represent us, and the rest of the state well. Our resiliency, perseverance, grit, work ethic, and our immense talent have only grown from this year’s competition and we are looking forward to our next season with excitement and glory. Until then, we will be celebrating being the 2nd best team in the State of Connecticut because that is quite an impressive honor that we are all incredibly proud of! Congratulations to all the competitors! J There are 23 different STEM events in a Science Olympiad competition and the Lyme-Old Lyme teams earned medals in 17 of the 23 events demonstrating excellence across the board. Our team brought 7 gold medals, 10 silver medals, and 7 bronze medals back to our great community. A special thank you to Pfizer and Benchmark Wealth Management who continue to invest in their community by supporting the Lyme/Old Lyme Science Olympiad team. The Lyme-Old Lyme team would not function without the coaches and mentors who spend so much of their time with our Olympians! Please thank our coaches every time you see them because without them, our hearts and brains would not be as full as they are now. We are both smarter and wiser because of our coaches!
