CT Association of Public School Superintendents Award
Maddie Zrenda and Jack Manthous were awarded the CAPSS Award for their leadership in our school and community at large. Jack is as long standing member of the Community Service Club and Student Leaders, and works with the stage crew for the school musical each year, an athlete, and a member of the Spanish Honor Society and Mock Trial. Jack continues to build upon all his talents to our benefit, and we are lucky to have him among our top students.
Maddie Zrenda is known for her perseverance and character. A National Honor Society member, she has challenged herself with rigorous courses and achieved excellent results across all disciplines. Maddie’s level of involvement in so many community minded activities has made a great impact on our school environment. From her work as Class President and Student Ambassador for the Board of Education, to her contributions to our Youth Service Bureau’s Drug and Alcohol Awareness panel and her leadership in both the classroom and the playing field, Maddie’s impact is extensive.
Rotary Student of the Month
Hope Femia was selected by the Social Studies Department as the Rotary December's Student of the Month. Hope was awarded this honor not only for her excellence in her history classes but for her leadership both in and out of the classroom. Hope is an editor of our online newspaper, Osprey, a member of the National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society, an active member of the Student Advisory Council as well as our school's Debate Team.
Business Student of the Month!
Patrick Looney is the Lyme-Old Lyme Chamber of Commerce Business Student of the Month. He was awarded this for his outstanding initiative in the classroom and his interest in business. He has taken several classes in the business department and plans to major in Finance.
