Influential Hispanic Female Musicians By Callie Bass, Livie Bass, Lyla Powers, and Alexis Fenton
For this month’s Spanish Honor Society board, we wrote about influential Latina women artists. We decided to highlight four artists, Rosalía Tobello, Jennifer Lopez, Selena Quintanilla, and Gloria Estefan. Rosalía is a Spanish singer and songwriter, born in Barcelona, who became the first woman to win the Latin Granny Awards twice. Jennifer Lopez is an American actor and musician, who has won many awards including Favorite Latin Artist and Best Actress Feature Film in Hustlers. Selena is called the “Queen of Tejano music”, and she was the first female Tejano artist to win a Grammy for Best Mexican-American Album. Finally, Gloria was born in Havanah, Cuba and she has won three Grammy Awards for her music. These are only a few of the many accomplished latina musicians. Comments are closed.
