​Special Guest Speaker for Spanish Honor Society: Mr. Norton

This week in the Spanish Honor Society we had an amazing special guest come into the class and teach us about his career in our school. Mr. Norton came in and gave us a very insightful presentation on what he does for students in our school. His job at Lyme Old Lyme High School is helping students from other countries learn how to speak english. From his presentation we learned how difficult it is to learn another language and adjust to a different society when coming from another country and how Mr. Norton plays a large role in helping students feel more comfortable in their new school. Mr. Norton also helped us understand how difficult it is to fully understand and speak english and explained to us that for someone who didn’t learn the language subconsciously it can be a very long process. Overall the presentation was wonderful and Mr. Norton did a great job at explaining his career and how he helps out at our school.
