Monday, November 11, proved to be, yet again, a wonderful demonstration of LOLHS' gratitude and honor for our local Veterans. Our Wildcat Band and Chorus performed with heart and soul that stole the show. Mr. Paul Ahnell, was invited by his granddaughter, Samantha Geshel, as this year's guest speaker. He shared eight life-long lessons that he learned during his years of service. Kate Cheney received the Voice of Democracy Award and was recognized by the local VFW. She gave her thoughtful, award-winning speech to the audience addressing What Makes America Great. And, Jacqueline Malizia started the assembly with her opening remarks about the importance of remembering our Veterans collectively. It was a beautiful ceremony for our Vererans - the heroes who have unselfishly dedicated their lives fighting to provide us with the freedoms we hold near and dear as American Citizens.
